Become a Sperm Bank Donor and Make extra Cash

To become a donor at a sperm bank you must pass there often times strict screening criteria.  If you are able to pass this and become a sperm bank donor you may be able to make quite a bit of money.  The most in demand donors can make upwards of thousands of dollars a year.  Read on to see what the most common qualifications are necessary to become a sperm bank donor.

Begin a search for local sperm banks.  You should apply to become a sperm donor at all of them since they will usually have differing screening processes and requirements.  If you can’t find one ask your doctor about local sperm banks.

To be a sperm bank donor what qualifications should I have?

Although the exact numbers will depend on the particular sperm bank these are the most common desired traits that you should have.

  1. At least 5′ 9″ as most moms want sperm from tall donors
  2. Between 18 and 40 years old. Sperm from younger men is more desirable.
  3. Your weight should be proportionate to your height, you cannot be overweight.
  4. You should be well educated, the more education the better
  5. You can’t be adopted as this makes it nearly impossible to judge your lineage and potential for diseases.
  6. You should be able to provide a sample 4-6 times a month for 6 months
  7. You should have no diseases such as hepatitis, HIV, Herpes or any other disease that can affect a new borne baby.

If you feel you meet all these qualifications then call your local sperm bank, they’ll pre-screen you over the phone and, if you pass invite you down to fill out some forms and perhaps leave an initial sample.

Although each sperm bank has it’s own procedure generally your initial sample will be tested for motility, deformity, freeze potential and count.  Passing this will result in you coming back for more tests, usually a blood test and urine test.

If your initial sample looks good another round of testing is done.  Now, depending on the quality of the sperm bank you may even have to do yet another round of testing.

If you pass all the screening the sperm bank will more than likely offer you a chance to become a sperm donor.  Doing this requires you to leave 1-2 deposits a week for as much as 6 months.

The exact amount each sperm bank pays differs, I suggest checking sperm bank websites to see what their pay amount is.
